A digital hair and beauty salon second to none

The Observation

Emidio Gaudioso is a German star hairdresser with a unique salon in East-Westphalia. Certainly also one of the most innovative and sustainably-focused salon owners, Emidio wanted his salon to be a true lighthouse in many aspects, with a clear focus on customer experience and sustainability. Emidio also has brought to live the "hair help the oceans" initiative through which he is collecting cut hair from more than 1,000 salons in Germany and beyond the recycle them for oil barriers saving oceans and rivers from oil pollution disasters. He approached us through our partner L'Oreal to create some unique experiences.

The Solution Design

Next to window-facing digital signage also promoting his 'hair help the oceans' campaign, we developed and deployed a social media photo booth, a "Facebook Likes" counter and a scan & learn station for over the counter sales of hair beauty products. The photo booth was installed for customers to share their latest look on social media or get a print photo as a souvenir while the Facebook Likes counter interacts via QR-code within seconds with the customer's mobile phone showing their like posts within seconds on a retro drop sheet technology display.

The Result

Undoubtedly the best salon experience by far, Emidio benefits from a very high customer loyalty, as his clients simply cannot imagine any better salon and service. His focus on sustainability with his hair help the oceans initiative made him appear on TV and further grow his reputation, and we are helping him to share his constant innovations and enhancements on his signage displays and beyond.
